The Cockentrice at Krog Street Market Opens for Dinner Friday, January 2
Coming to you from the masterminds behind The Spotted Trotter – The Cockentrice will open for dinner service on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Krog Street Market. Envision a ‘Charcuterie Saloon’ that will serve just about everything you can do with a piece of meat and more. The Cockentrice will feature a unique cocktail menu, beers and ales, and a wine list that pairs perfectly with their menu options. Seating between 100 to 130 people, this full service restaurant features an outdoor patio facing Krog Street and is connected to The Spotted Trotter’s second butcher and cheese shop.
“To say that opening my first restaurant is a dream come true would be an understatement. This moment has been the ultimate goal since opening The Spotted Trotter in 2010, and I am beyond excited to finally show Atlanta who I am as a chef and not just as a charcutier,” said Kevin Ouzts, Chef & Owner. “It has been an honor working with the employees, farmers, vendors, and other chefs who have made this opportunity possible, and I am looking forward to showcasing all of that passion on this new stage.”
Chef Ouzts is well acquainted with the Atlanta restaurant scene. Previously at Restaurant Eugene, Ouzts moved to Napa, California to explore the culinary industry in 2009. Upon returning to Atlanta in 2010, Ouzts launched The Spotted Trotter, a USDA-certified, critically acclaimed, boutique charcuterie, producing everything from beef jerky and delicious salamis to rabbit liver pate and crepinettes. Now, with the success of The Spotted Trotter’s second location at KSM well under way, Ouzts is excited to pay homage to what he likes to call a “New American Charcuterie” with his first restaurant venture.
